MBAX 2014: Beat Magazine Interview

Thom Parry from Beat Magazine interviewed me during the Melbourne Body Art Xpo right before the judging process. The video gives you a good look at the event, and you can also see Thom being body painted in all his red-devilish glory by one of the judges. Check it out here!

MBAX 2014: From out of the Ashes

I had so much fun painting Sarah at the Melbourne Body Painting Xpo on the weekend – and we won! She’s such a doll and did an amazing performance. What a superstar!

With the theme ‘From out of the Ashes’ I decided to draw on the Norse mythological apocalypse, Ragnarok. I made a custom audio track for the performance, voice-over story included.

Winning comes with its perks. Check out my hand-made custom trophy!

RAW: Revolution Interview

I was interviewed at the RAW: Revolution Exhibition on the 23rd of May and the clip has just gone live. Check it out!

RAW: Revolution Exhibition

On Friday the 23rd of May 2014 the RAW team put on quite an exhibition showcasing all sorts of creative types. From visual arts to music and an amazing fashion runway with free-flowing drinks, all housed in a glass-chandeliered space of mammoth proportions. It was a huge event!

I even painted live in collaborative piece with my good friend and talented artist, Brad Payne.

The finished piece.

What a fantastic show the RAW team put on and a big thank you to everyone who came along.

Black Swan Portrait Prize

Not only a Finalist, but my painting of Logie Award winner Melissa Bergland was Highly Commended in the Black Swan Portrait Prize 2013!

Perspicacious - Melissa Bergland

Judge’s Comments
It was very difficult to choose a winner between the highly commended and the winning artwork, as both were very highly regarded.
The Highly Commended portrait is unabashedly slick and sophisticated, bold and brash even. Highly skilled in its technical ability but coming together as a powerful composite portrait of this brash young woman. There is a wonderful range of marks and textures to intensify the character in this work, and it utilises the language of advertising appropriate to the subject.
